Aimee Petkus

Aimee grew up in Colorado and received an undergraduate degree in geology from Colorado State University. She worked professionally as a geologist for several years in New York City and surrounding areas. Unsatisfied with a paper-pushing job, she took a 2-year adventure collecting rocks and minerals to get back to what she loved about geology. Along that adventure, she dabbled in some lapidary which then led her to the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned a BFA in Jewelry and Objects in 2013. Inspired by crystalline geometry and the order within disorder in mineral growth, she seeks to combine contradictory elements in a way that mimics nature. Aimee now resides in Elkins Park, PA with her husband Greg and 1.5 year old daughter, Ruby.
